Ceramics Given the Green Light for Funding

proskills-logoAs funded training in the Glazed Ceramics industry rolls out via the Joint Investment Programme (JIP), Industry leaders call for employers to switch on to the benefits of being green.

Employers are being urged to get involved  in a scheme which could give them up to 50% off the cost of training, as there is still funding available for the Glazed Ceramics industry - but with a cut off date of July 31st, time is running out to apply.

The JIP offers qualifications in the areas of Sustainable Energy, Leadership and Management, Business Improvement Techniques and Logistics – all of which can have an immediate impact on improving the energy efficiency of a business. The Level 3 + 4 (A Level + supervisory/managerial equivalent) qualifications give employers the chance to upskill their staff with qualifications that will directly benefit the business for years to come.

Terry Watts, CEO of Proskills said, “We were delighted to be able to win substantial funding for training for our employers in such a strategically important area. I am really pleased by the response of employers in the sector to JIP; the large numbers of companies and learners, together with very significant financial and resource commitments, shows how seriously businesses in our sector take skills and how they will respond to a sector-driven initiative.”

Francis Morrall, Deputy Chief Executive and Employment Director of the British Ceramic Confederation commented, “Now that the funding has been made available, it is so important for the employers within the industry to take this opportunity to really improve, and gain the qualifications in the right areas to make a positive impact on the running of their company – reducing costs, improving consumer perception and pushing the industry forward as a sustainable and energy efficient one.”
